According to research professor Anja Hallikainen from the Finnish Food Safety Authority Evira, when calculated in pictograms per gram of fat the dioxin contents of Baltic Sea salmon and Baltic herring are clearly higher than those of German pork.

According to Hallikainen, it is still safe to eat Baltic herring or salmon safely once or twice a month.
